GAD (gender and development) leadership camp!
Feb 8-11th, myself and 4 Horqueteno youth headed to the east! It was a weekend filled with learning about self-esteem, leadership, self-identity, decision making, gender roles and much much more. We visited Itapu, the hydro-electric dam! And celebrated my birthday!! It was phenomenal! My youth were great, they participated in everything and loved every minute!
fishing for shells in the man-made lake created by the Itapu dam. Tatí Yupi Nature Reserve, Alto Paraña, Paraguay!
Itapu: worlds largest hydro-electric dam...until the one in China is completed! Built over the course of 15 years, 140 people died during construction and produces 95% of Paraguays electricity today! We went for the ¨light show¨, which was all of....turning the lights...on!
